The original, 1929 Phantom of the Opera is a cinematic masterpiece, full of adventure, suspense, and high drama. With elaborate sets, brilliant costuming, and the unforgettable Lon Chaney, the film still mesmerizes audiences.

Not-So-Silent-Cinema’s new, original score for piano, organ and strings, moves effortlessly from high melodrama to foreboding modernist textures. It also borrows from Gounod’s Faust, the opera which is being staged during the story.

This score is for the 1929 version, not the 1925 version.
